About the creator

Delvina provides education and research on resilience and personal wellbeing to help people lead more positive, purposeful lives. Delvina received her Ed.M. from Harvard University in Human Development and Psychology. She completed her doctorate in Educational Leadership at Simmons College, focusing her research on academic resilience in higher education. Most recently, Delvina earned her Certificate in Positive Psychology.

Her extensive training in Education and Psychology places her at the forefront of promoting resilience. She has dedicated her career to being a change agent through education, research, and developing innovative tools to help increase resilience and improve the lives of adolescents and young adults.

Delvina's expertise stems from her passion for developing and implementing research-based prevention programs that address health-related issues, including mental health, resilience, and various everyday wellness needs. She is the creator of the Realize Your Resilience Toolkit: a toolkit for college and university administrators who want to promote resilience across campus. Most recently, she developed and validated a new Academic Resilience Assessment to measure resilience in college students—the only college resilience measure of its kind.

Delvina currently works as the Director of Research and Program Development at Life Advantages, where she applies over ten years of experience specializing in resilience education and program development. Prior to this, she worked for the Department of Psychiatry at Boston Children's Hospital, developing innovative depression prevention tools and curriculum for the Swensrud Depression Prevention Initiative.
